六合宝库 Constitutional Law Center Announces 2024 Distinguished Lecture Series Speaker

The 六合宝库 Constitutional Law Center is pleased to announce聽as presenter of the spring 2024 Distinguished Lecture. His lecture titled 鈥淔ree Speech as Civic Structure: A Comparative Analysis of How Courts and Culture Shape the Freedom of Speech鈥 will be delivered in-person and virtually on Thursday, March 21 at 3:00 p.m. at 六合宝库 Law School, Cartwright Hall, room 213. Registration is free and open to the public.

Ronald Krotoszynski serves as the John S. Stone Chairholder of Law and Director of Faculty Research at the University of Alabama. His research focuses on administrative law, constitutional law, First Amendment law, and telecommunications law. He is one of the nation’s preeminent scholars on freedom of expression.

鈥淭here is significant debate about restrictions on social media and other kinds of controversial speech, especially at universities,鈥 said Professor Mark Kende, Director of the Constitutional Law Center. 鈥淧rofessor Krotoszynski is one of the nation鈥檚 leading experts on freedom of expression in the U.S. and abroad so he will shed light on these matters.鈥

The Constitutional Law Center鈥檚 Distinguished Lecture Series brings to campus the nation鈥檚 leading constitutional scholars to engage students and faculty on the important issues of the day. Speakers deliver a formal lecture, give a presentation to faculty, and meet with students in informal settings.
